2021 is the year of the Ox. The lunar Chinese New Year starts on 12th February 2021.
According to the legend of the 12 Chinese signs of the zodiac the animals arrived in order at the palace.
Buddha sent the rat out to invite the animal kingdom to pay tribute to him at New Year.
When the rat had informed the animals to go to the palace there was a race to see who would be the first 12 animals to arrive.
The ox was in the lead and the rat asked the ox if he could hitch a ride on his back .
The ox being a kind and reliable creature agreed.
As the animal entourage approached the palace and were racing towards the finishing line the ox was still in front.
At the last minute the rat who is quite a cunning creature slipped down the nose of the ox and was the 1st to roll past the finishing line.
So in the cycle of the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals the rat is the first creature and the ox is the second. Because the personality of the ox it didn’t mind that it gave a lift to the rat because the ox is a down to earth creature who likes to do its own thing.
At Chinese New Year and throughout Chinese history there have been lucky colours according to the five elements.
2021 is a metal or golden ox year. The strongest elements are earth metal and water, which relate to the colours yellow/brown or white/gold silver and black/navy blue. The missing elements are Wood Green and fire red pink and purple. To bring all five elements into your life in 2021 make sure you include some wood/green and fire/red pink and purple in your Clothes shoes and accessories.
The Ox is about moving steadily forwards. The metal ox aka or golden ox is a creature which is capable of sharp thinking. Think carefully and plot and plan before you make a manoeuvre.
The ox approaches from the north-east direction. Because the Ox is the ruler of the year we want to have the ox behind us and supporting us in all our endeavours. To get great support in 2021 sit with the ox behind you in the north east so you face south-west.
Because we don’t want to disturb the ruling Year animal sign the ox we do not want to disturb the ground or dig in the north east direction outside our homes.
If you want to do well in the Ox year it’s important to take things at a steady pace in keeping with the personality of the Ox.
Chinese Astrology and Feng Shui are best taken together.
With the world still in the grips of a global pandemic of COVID-19 Remember that taking care of your health is a top priority.
A top feng shui tip for the year of the ox is to also avoid disturbing the South East area both inside and outside.
If you want to attract new romance in the not so sociable world that we live in then you can try boosting the Feng Shui romance luck. Place a vase of fresh flowers in clean clear water in the east side of your home. Consider holding your zoom date in the east side of your home to make the most of the romance luck in the east in 2021.
Feng Shui is about making changes in your space to improve your luck. Chinese Astrology is about understanding your luckier times. When you do the right things at the right place at the right time then that’s bringing luck into your life!
